Mo Farah
British Olympic athlete
“No matter what or where you come from, if you work hard at something you can achieve it" - Mo Farah.
Mo Farah is a multiple Olympic, World and European Champion athlete. He has accumulated ten global titles which includes the 'double double' of gold medals over 5,000m and 10,000m at both the 2012 and 2016 Olympic games.
His achievements are a far cry from his beginnings in Somalia, he arrived in London at the age of 8 with his twin brother after fleeing from the wars in his home.
His achievements grew from a young age as he was recognised as a fantastic athlete by his sports teacher. He was a successful junior athlete and this followed him through his career. Mo Farah has recently retired from sports this year after finishing his last marathons. However, Mo's hard work and determination does not stop as he works hard to help other people in need. He is an ambassador for Save the Children and created the "Mo Farah Foundation" in 2011 in order to support health and education in Africa and the UK.
We are looking forward to learning about Mo and his determination and dedication to his career from a young age and hope that this will inspire us to have the same determination in our learning in Year 3.
