Year 2
Year 2 got to test out the new PE equipment and practised their shooting skills.
In DT week we made cheese sandwiches. We used skills such as cutting, grating and chopping to make these.
In Science, we have been looking at healthy eating and what a balanced diet looks like. We used the eatwell guide to learn about different food groups and then created a healthy meal plate using plasticine.
As part of the curriculum week, Year 2 looked at who Elton John was and why he was a significant individual. We also learnt his song 'I'm Still Standing'
This week in outdoor learning, we read the book 'The Great Fire of London'. We then made or own bread rolls like Thomas Farriner did in his bakery!
This week in Science, Spielberg class looked at what a life cycle is and the life cycles of different animals. We ordered images of life cycles before creating them in our book.
We used the book ‘The Great Fire of London’ and picked out key points and discussed these before creating a piece on the key events.
