Leah Munro

As a person who has been brought up in Harwich, I have always been proud to call it my home. After secondary school, I was unsure where my future would lead me but I knew that my passion for science was something I wanted to focus on. A little further down the line, I was lucky enough to spend many years working in secondary schools as a laboratory technician and as a cytologist for the NHS.

It was after this, that I became a stay at home mum of two, for 3 years. I quickly realised during this time, how important it was for children to be given everything they needed to be able to succeed.

In 2017, I secured a position as a Learning Support Assistant at Spring Meadow Primary School - which is where both of my children attend. I am fortunate enough that I get to work with groups of children who are developing their knowledge of phonics and enable them to apply their learning to become competent readers.

Spring Meadow is a school that I care deeply about and I will strive to ensure that we provide a nurturing environment that allows every child to flourish.
