Braintree Museum - Victorian day
Braintree Museum trip - Wednesday 1st May 2024
On Wednesday 1st May, Year 2 children visited Braintree Museum to learn all about the Victorian Era. The children spent time visiting a Victorian classroom, completing a gallery trail and looking at different objects from the Victorian Era. The children particularly enjoyed visiting the Victorian classroom where they were taught by a Victorian teacher and completed reading, writing and arithmetic work using chalk and slate.
This visit has provided pupils with the opportunity to experience what life was like in the Victorian Era and has enabled them to make comparisons between life in the 1800's and now. The children have been able to discuss changes to education, transport, clothes and buildings and have linked this to their experiences on the trip.
