Our Children

  • Are kind and welcoming to all children, parents, staff and governors, whatever  their background, achievements, (dis)abilities, culture, race, sex, gender or other characteristics.
  • Remember that we all belong to the same school community
  • Do not leave anyone out of their games
  • Make sure that their words are always kind and remember that it is not funny to makes jokes about people’s beliefs or appearance

 

Our Staff

  • Create a classroom culture and ethos that makes staff, parents and children feel welcome and creates a sense of belonging to the school community
  • Ensure adaptations are made to the environment, timetable, expectations and learning plans so that everyone has equal and appropriate access
  • Avoid structural exclusion by ensuring all children have equal access to, and develop relationships with, all adults and activities
  • Ensure that High Quality Inclusive Teaching is in place at all time (using the Ordinarily Available framework)
  • Provide the opportunities for children to learn the skills and attitudes that will allow then to access the curriculum and prepare them for the next stage in their education

  • Make sure that the curriculum is being suitably adapted so that all children have access to the same curriculum in a way that is appropriate for them
