Year 4

In Science we have been learning about the digestive system so we created a practical demonstration to show the process our food goes through inside our bodies

Here are some photos of Year 4. We have been studying nests in art and went outside to attempt to make our own sculptured bird nests.

In Music Year 4 have used glockenspiels.

This week the Year 4's have been pond dipping and exploring nature within the pond area.

Hunting for woolly mammoths

Comparing Bones

Crafting Stone Age Tools

We had some statements that we needed to persuade our partner to agree with in English this week.

We have been drawing and painting Still Life and famous Still Life.

Last week we worked together to find the lines of symmetry for different shapes.

In Year 4 over the past week we have been exploring money. The children have used many practical methods to explore this topic in real life contexts and have enjoyed working collaboratively.

Year 4 have been creating History double page spreads about daily life for the Mayans.

This week in Outdoor Learning the children were creating their own mythical creature using natural materials. They considered what it looked like, what it was called, where it would live and why

For our unit on still life we were having a go at gestural drawing, where you use multiple colours to build up the layers of your drawing in a more abstract style.
