The Diversity Mark for Education

Mrs Patrick is responsible for Diversity and Equity at our school and is leading our engagement with the Diversity Mark for Education.

We are delighted to say that having been awarded the Bronze Diversity Award in September 2022, and the Silver Award in April 2023, we achieved the prestigious Gold Standard in July 2024.  The Gold Award focuses on curriculum delivery, leadership, and the importance of diversity, equality and inclusion across the school community.

Our report stated

"The tour of the school showcased an inclusive school environment and classrooms showed evidence of positive lessons and pupils were well behaved. The wider curriculum observed during the tour from posters to displays were inclusive and contributed to building a positive school culture."

"There was a meeting with students to explore views around DEI. This feedback was exceptional, and students expressed feeling safe and enjoyed being at school and mentioned opportunities for activities and clubs. Some students described the teachers as the best thing about the school, and all pupils felt the school was a positive place to learn and grow."

"The assessment was strong. The recommendations is that the school is awarded the Gold Award. The school should now start working on becoming a Centre of Excellence and building on the strong foundations currently now in place".

We are very proud of this achievement and are now working on becoming one of the first schools to be recognised as a Centre of Excellence for Diversity and Inclusion within this Framework.
