Stretch Your Thinking
Monday 22nd February 2021
This week I would like you to go on a number hunt.
This could be around your house or whilst you are out walking. I’d like you to look at all the different numbers you can see? Where can you see different numbers? How many different places can you see numbers.
Maybe you could take some photos of the different places you find numbers and send them to our class email address.
Monday 8th February
I have another quote for you from ‘The Boy, The Mole, The Fox and The Horse’ by Charlie Mackesy for you this week.
In the quote the Mole says being kind to yourself is often the greatest kindness. What does this mean? What does it mean to be kind to yourself? Can you think of anything you could do to be kind to yourself – or maybe something you already do?
Monday 1st February 2021
In maths we have been looking at length. Can you go out into your garden or maybe for a walk and measure the length of different objects using non-standard measure.
Maybe you could measure the length of a drain using your feet?
Maybe you could measure the length of a fence post using your arms?
What other objects could you find to measure?
How could you measure these?
Monday 25th January
Here is a quote from one of my favourite books ‘The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse’ by Charlie Mackesy.
What would you like to be when you grow up?
Monday 18th January 2021
This week I would like you to think about your feelings
Can you create a mind map of different feelings? Happy, sad, angry
How would you feel if someone was unkind to you?
How would you feel if someone helped you?
Monday 11th January
This week I would like you to consider the following questions:
What is friendship?
What makes a good friend?
What do you think?
