Sheila Hammerton - LEA Governor
I have been a school governor since June 2012 with a special interest in the Nursery, early Years and SEN. In addition I enjoy regular visits to Breakfast club.
I have always worked in the public sector, initially in mental health but mainly in children’s services until my retirement. Education played a significant part in my life and provided opportunities to have a wider knowledge and experience of the world.
My work reinforced my view of the importance of education in all children’s lives whatever their background. I fully support the school’s holistic approach to education and enriching children’s lives in a variety of ways e.g. after school clubs and having a good start to the day at Breakfast club. This is in addition to having high but realistic expectations of attainment.
I have 6 grandchildren who I see on a regular basis. The oldest four are at primary school outside of Essex.
