I can explore and understand the part that flowers play in the life cycle of flowering plants, including pollination, seed formation and seed dispersal.

 

Show  your child the video using the link below as a starting point for discussion about flowers. explain that they are going to find out about pollination and to do this they will need to know about what is inside a flower 

If you have flowers in your garden (even a dandelion) get your child to grab it and take a close look at perhaps using tweezers, scissors and a knife to take it apart. Ask your child to count the number of sepals, petals, stamens and carpels in the flower. Use PowerPoint Slides to support this activity. Children to then complete worksheet which asks them to label the parts of a flower.
