5 Minute Move | Kids Workout 1 | The Body Coach TV

Today we are going to be looking at throwing and catching.

To throw the ball, we are going to focus on the underarm action. To do this, hold the ball in your hand, move your arm backwards, swing your arm forward and release the ball.

To catch the ball, keep your eye on the ball and look at where it is travelling to. Put your arms in the direction the ball is falling and grab the ball when it comes into contact with your hands.

Practice throwing the ball in the air and catching it a few times.

Main activity: See how many times you can throw the ball in the air and catch it without dropping it. Next, try bouncing the ball on the floor and catching it, how many times can you do this?

Challenge: Once you have thrown the ball, can you clap before you need to catch it?

Make sure you complete this activity in a safe place!
