To solve means to find a solution.

Problem solving is where a question needs to resolved. We often only get a couple of clues but we need to use these as well as our maths knowledge to find an answer.

 

Maths Journal:

Make 3 stories about equal groups using the picture below.

Mind Workout:

Holly wants to buy 8 cupcakes for a party and wants an equal amount of cupcakes in each box. How many ways can Holly buy the cupcakes?

TOP TIP: Get 8 objects and see how many ways you can create equal groups e.g. 4 groups of 2 cupcakes.
