Mike Gilders - Co-opted Governor
Now happily retired, I was involved for 45 years as a Maths teacher, Head of Year and Governor at what is now the Harwich and Dovercourt High School. I decided in 2017, that a change was due!
Both my son and my daughter attended Spring Meadow Primary School some 25 years ago, and I was treasurer then of the parent group, Friends of Spring Meadow. I noticed a while ago that the School needed a new Governor and I had no doubt that it was time to return, especially as I live only 200 meters from the school! I was delighted to become a co-opted Governor in November 2018.
I really hope that I can use my experience of education in Harwich to help continue the fantastic progress that Spring Meadow is currently making. I fully support the Headteacher and staff as they ensure that every child is provided with the opportunity to attain the highest possible standards while in the school, but I will challenge all involved at the School to find new ways to help the children to improve even more!
