L.O. I can use a range of vocabulary to create emotion.

W.Up: Emotional vocabulary (Give your child 60 seconds to write down as much emotional vocabulary as they can)

Today I would like you to watch the following two end clips on Up. Your child should then focus on writing what happens at the end of the story using a range of vocabulary to create emotion. Again, we are trying to use different openers and this should be written in past tense just like yesterday. Remember to point out to your children that even though there was sad start to the story, so much happiness has come in the end and Carl has now been able to go on his dream adventure that himself and his wife had always wanted. He has also found new friendships along the way.

Please see below an example of my writing I would model to the children. Same as yesterday, they can pinch a few words from mine but rest needs to be their own work.

The success criteria is as follows:

  • Emotional vocabulary
  • Openers
  • Adverbs
  • Punctuation
  • Check sense
