L.O. I can use adverbs to create tension.
W.up: Adverbs (Give your child 60 seconds to write down as many adverbs as they can). Please see attached image which gives examples of adverbs that your child could use in their writing.
Please watch the attached clip of UP which shows the resolution of our quest adventure. After watching this clip your child needs to rewrite what has happened in this scene in past tense. We are really trying to encourage the children not to start all of their sentences with 'the' and 'they' so we ask that they think of different openers so that their writing is of better quality. Below is an example of my writing that I would model under a visualiser. I usually say to the children that they can pinch a couple of things from my piece but the rest needs to be their own work.
The success criteria that children should follow for this piece of writing is as follows:
- Range of openers
- Past tense
- Check sense
