Learning objective: I can write the ending of my narrative.

Warm up: write as many adjectives about this image as you can.*

*adjectives are words to describe (strong, comfy, muddy).

This week in literacy you are going to write your own narrative based on the story ‘The World Made A Rainbow’ by Michelle Robinson. This book was written by Michelle Robinson following the first lockdown last year. It’s a lovely book with a wonderful message.

Here is a reading of the book itself.

The World Made a Rainbow by Michelle Robinson | Kids Book Read Aloud

readaloud #covid #teachersHello everyone, Today I will be reading the ever so wonderful book called "The World Made a Rainbow" by the talented author Michel...

In each lesson we will have our success criteria to follow. The success criteria are what I need to see in your work to see what you are learning whilst at home.

Success criteria:

  • Conjunctions
  • Expanded noun phrase
  • Proper nouns
  • Characters
  • Setting
  • Paragraph
  • Ending
  • Adjectives

Main task: today you are going to write the ending of your narrative. This is where you will finish your story and bring everything back together. Think about what lockdown ending means to you too.

Remember, your lockdown narrative doesn’t have to be the same as Michelle Robinson’s book. Write it from your own experiences!

Here is my example:

Betty finished her rainbow and put it up in her window for people to see. It made them smile as they walked past and pointed out the colours and the blue cardboard. Betty felt excited because soon she knew she would be back at school with her friends.
