LO: I can use alliteration

Warm Up: Brainstorm what you might see on Halloween night, e.g. trick-a-treaters, piles of sweets, witches, etc.

Then for each thing in your list, try to think of a word to describe it that begins with the same letter – this is known as alliteration, e.g. witches wielding broomsticks, piles of sugary sweets, perfect plump pumpkins, etc.

Then create a poem entitled ‘On Halloween Night I See’ using the ideas you have generated, e.g.

On Halloween Night I See…

Perfect plump pumpkins,

Piles of sugary sweets,

Ghosts gathering,

Vampires venturing out,

Etc.
