About David Attenborough

Sir David Attenborough is a English Broadcaster, writer and naturalist. He first started working for the BBC as a broadcaster in 1952 and began filming animals in zoos in a programme called Zoo Quest. He became director of television programming for BBC from 1968 to 1972, before moving onto writing and narrating award winning TV shows surrounding nature and wildlife. Sir David was first knighted by the Queen in 1985 and received his second knighthood in 2022. Sir David’s key message to the world is that it is “our responsibility  to do everything in our power to create a planet that provides a home not just for us, but for all life on Earth”. He has worked tirelessly to raise awareness of environmental issues and campaigns for changes to be made to help save wildlife and the environment.

Sir David’s passion and love for nature is inspiring to all with his continual hard work in saving our planet. We would love our class to be inspired and want to learn about nature and how we can look after it, using Sir David as an inspiration.
