All about Class 5 Sea Lion
Our teachers are Mrs Lawrence and Miss Blackwell. We are also very lucky to have two Learning Support Assistants, Mrs Summers and Mrs Whittingham. Our midday assistant is Mrs Gould.
In year 5, we aim to create a positive and enjoyable environment in which the children feel happy to learn and feel confident to challenge themselves.
Learning in year 5 is through a variety of ways such as groups, pairs, class and independent work. We do encourage our children to become more independent during the year. This starts at the beginning of the day when the children need to come in to the classroom and begin working on their early morning tasks. The learning in year 5 is also extremely cross curricular and practical.
What will be coming up throughout the year?
The topics we will be covering throughout the year will include:
Throughout the year class 5 will have the opportunity to take part in a variety of trips and activities.
Our PE lessons are on a Wednesday and Thursday. Please ensure children have removed earrings on these days and they have a full PE kit.
Thank you for your ongoing support.
Our Home study is given out on Wednesday and is due in on the following Tuesday. Homework will consist of English, Maths, Spellings, Handwriting and SPaG. Within our home study children are required to read every day for at least 5 to 10 minutes. This can be to an older sibling or adult. Please can you sign the reading record to say you, their sibling or other adult has heard them read. This reading record is required in school every day.
